CCDC News

Sam Hodge announces primary challenge for Assembly District 106

With the beginning of the new year came the announcement from the then Chair of the CCDC, Sam Hodge, that he would resign his position to put in a primary challenge against 13-year veteran Didi Barrett for Assembly District 106, covering parts of Columbia County and Dutchess County. To see if you are in AD 106, check the Columbia County Board of Elections website.

Sam Hodge’s announcement comes on top of Lt. Governor Antonio Delgado’s announcement last year that he would be mounting a primary challenge against the incumbent Governor Kathy Hochul. Hochul has been governor since Andrew Cuomo resigned in 2021 and then won the 2022 election for a 4-year term with Delgado as her chosen Lt. Governor. At the time, Delgado was a Congressman representing what was then NY Congressional District 18, which included Columbia County.

The primary elections will be held on June 23, 2026. Check our Elections page for important deadlines and other voting information.

New officers elected to CCDC

At a special meeting of the CCDC on January 8, Abbie Hodgson and D. Michael Dvorchak were elected Co-Chairs, Claire Ackerman was elected First Vice-Chair and Victoria Siepp was elected Second Vice-Chair to fill vacated positions.
